Sheesh, it's so easy to drown out there.

Just finished this great feature article from the June 2013 UNCUT. The guy was really anti-drugs & cigs, and no alcohol was found in his system after the autopsy. Why anybody would want to swim in the Mississippi in Memphis at all (I grew up a mile from it, and it was "murky" to say the least way up in Minn.), let alone wearing clothes & boots, is beyond me.

I like Jeff Buckley fine but can we PLEASE, PLEASE stop playing this song and all 17 other different versions that get played all the time on this station.

The apparent consensus to the contrary, I think Jeff Buckley is generally just awful. SO overblown, overwrought, over the freakin' top. This song, however, is really beautiful.

This is one of my most favorite albums, best listened to all in one go, since parts are a long segue. I was fortunate enough to see him in a small club here in Utah and he signed this disc. It was a fantastic solo show. Amazing guitarist and vocalist. No telling where he might have gone if he was still alive.

I agree that it is not the best version; there are three or four better including Cohen's. But Jeff Buckley live such a tragically short life. Everything he left behind is a gift.

This is the worst version of this song I know. The John Cale rendition is excellent, "Laughing Len" Cohen's is pretty good too.

Not KD Lang please!!! Her version is so overwrought:

My top three versions:

John Cale
Jeff Buckley
Rufus Wainright

We seem to be hearing Buckley's version of this song on an almost daily basis.

Can we dig a little deeper into the archives, please, and try kd lang's, or Cash's or ANYBODY else's version, pleeeeeeease!

Still like John Cale's version the best though.

There is actually a book about this version of the song, Weid, huh. I copied this link from Amazon: The Holy or the Broken: Leonard Cohen, Jeff Buckley, and the Unlikely Ascent of "Hallelujah" Alan Light (Author)

None of these songs have the rating you've given. Where did you get this list - your alimentary canal?

Geez, what ever happened to "play nice, kids."

This is RP Classics pasted in from the bottom of the Music/Artists page. The note there says " top listener ratings", so the rating is apparently the highest each particular song ever achieved.

Next time you decide to be obnoxious, perhaps you could make sure you aren't making a fool of yourself first.

This song was played at my best friend's funeral. Now every time I hear it it's like he's alive again for a few minutes.
