Saw them at the 9:30 Club on the Woodface tour--the only time Tim Finn toured with the House. Interesting band dynamics. Crowded House was very much Neil's band as much as Split Enz was Tim's, but you could tell that Tim wasn't used to not being in charge. Neil shot him a look from time to time, as much a warning as brotherly affection. Pretty funny. Great live band.

Crowded House - "Weather with you" Live (1993):

"Now that is why you have to go see your favourate bands live. There is just no comparison with listening with an ear plug or sharing with thousands of others with real live performers. "

"Mark Hart, former keyboardist of Supertramp and now the keyboardist and backing vocalist of Crowded House. "

No. Ask me. I'm 113 years old. And I say 'NObody listens to TECHno, LETs go.'

Wow.. so you think that age has to do a lot with musical literacy?
Perhaps i should ask my 83 year old grandma what she thinks about the latest minimal techno compilation of Ricardo Villalobos then!

If you don't hear this album as transcendly accomplished, creative, melodic, inspired and rare, then you should not be allowed to listen to music.
One of the greatest albums I have ever heard and I am 52 years old and heard it all.

Go go Go-Betweens! (Sad loss to music). And some Triffids, while we're at it...

I live in Melbourne (and used to live in Auckland) so I was curious where '57 Mount Pleasant Street' might be; Auckland or Melbourne? I Googled '57 Mount Pleasant Street' and got here .
Allegedly, 57 Mount Pleasant Street is neither in Auckland or Melbourne, but is the address of the Registry Office where John Lennon was married for the first time! ( actually the address of the Registry Office is 65 Mount Pleasant.) In Liverpool , where I used to live when I was a child! I am told I had the same music teacher as John Lennon; a peripatetic teacher who served Quarry Bank as well as my school. A nice story...
Even more spookily, the Google map on the website is wrong; the Mount Pleasant is in Liverpool city centre, not the suburb shown.
But the map shown is of the suburb in which I grew up, and includes the house where I lived for 18 years!
Sorry for a very personal story, but gave me goosebumps.

Fascinating. It would be very much like Neil Finn to sneak something that clever into a song.

I have an adoration of this song that borders on the irrational. Lyrics, singing, production ... everything.

anyone see the footage of this from the Live Earth concert on 7/7/07 ? There was a power outtage in the stadium and all the lights went on stage. The PA still worked. Amazing moment with the entire stadium singing in unison. A great ending to the entire day.
