One of the problems with the type of dismissive comment you were responding to is that somehow or other, not every person in the entire world has heard a given song as many times as a specific pissed-off listener has, and thus may not dislike it as righteously as he/she is supposed to. It is puzzling that so many listeners assume that personal taste is universal. Apparently, not everyone is as evolved nor has as refined a sense of taste. It is possible to like music and like some Cranberries songs without too much much cognitive disonance. Or so I surmise. [ Reply ]
