Love the way Josh Rouse captures the 70's feel.

maybe it's presumptive to assume he's singing to a woman...?

After buying and listening to this album for some time, I have been wondering myself about this song and others. I'm not so sure he is singing about another woman. Whatever , one way or the other, but I am curious.

NO! Ick.

Only Bob Dylan can pull off being this repetitive with a melody!

You know, I spent the last few years under the impression this was the lead singer of The Replacements.

This is very like late-70s/early-80s singer-songwriter stuff, like Al Stewart or Gerry Rafferty. Whether that's good or bad is another question.

Oh my gosh..I really like Josh Rouse, but this sounds amazingly close to Night Shift Guru by the Cash Brothers...which is a favorite.

This is nice.

I don't like the song, and I would have serious misgivings about a guy who wanted to try on my clothes.

I suppose that would depend on whether or not I was still in them...

It has a very Smiths-like feel to it...perhaps you are just thinking it sounds similar to The Smiths?

if this was written by a twelve year old for a school songwriting comp...it would get tossed. Brutal.

Ah - "Al Perkins (pedal steel guitar)". No wonder.
