The band used to throw out a different explanation depending on who was interviewing. At one point Neil Finn said it was a church he saw on Sunset Blvd.

Good song but Temple of Low Men sounds like the name of a Chinese restaurant.

So moody and unsettling. Neil Finn at this best. Great song, great album.

This cassette lived in the player in my '85 Pontiac Sunbird for quite a while, years ago. Seems like whenever I hear one of the cuts from Temple, I'm taken back to tearing ass down the highway to who-knows-where, with the amber dashboard lights staring back at me.

I like crowded house, but this song is just miserable. Going to turn of RP for a few minutes.

Couldn't disagree more. This is one of the best songs that never got played off this album. Great tune with a depth of feeling that is lacking on so much of todays schlock music.

The chord progression and counterpoint in the chorus will tear your heart out. Masters of the craft.

My upload a while back. I'm happy it was accepted, and I hope it gets played sometime soon. Any time now, in honor of Halloween, would be good.

Mice add. Crowded House doesn't sound much better than they do here. Love the organ at then end of the song.

Great album, great song (and no, it has nothing to do with Halloween!)
