kaybee Nov 29, 2012 - 17:29 | Never cared much for Mazzy Star when I first started listening to RP - she always sounds like she's slightly drunk. But I think finally, she's growing on me. A 7 for this, for now. |

Mazzy stopped the show and started complaining about the crowd being too loud. Someone shouted out "We love you Hope!" to which she replied: "I don't need you to love me. I need you to SHUT THE F**K UP!" Amazingly bizarre moment out of all the live shows I've worked/seen. Almost the whole crowd turned on her. She was very apologetic after the show and is a TOTAL SWEETHEART in person. Just an off night I guess. You know what, she was not wrong..if your there to see her perform..show respect and listen, not talking. Appropriate response in my mind..I love her even more now |

I discovered her while watching the psychological thriller, Down in the Valley , with Ed Norton (that movie is a discussion in itself). Mazzy Star sang the theme song, and after the movie I ran right out and purchased three of Hope's CDs as well as googled the band to learn all about it. Not only does her wavy, sensuous voice enthrall me, but she is a gorgeous Latina from LA, which, for some reason, strikes me as an unlikely possibility. Huh? What part is unlikely? |
