I could do for never hearing from REM haters ever again.

I'm really liking Accelerate. I think it's their most cohesive album since Bill Berry left.

It would be great to hear some other songs from the album... Until the Day is Done, Hollow Man...

It's taking RP a long time to play anything else off Accelerate! This is probably the weakest track on it.

Not their best work, but could be worse. I'm torn between a 6 and a 7.

Just awful.

Indeed. What the hell just happened to REM?

Edit: When you hear it with the entire album, it works somehow. Hmmm...

I like it better than recent ones of theirs. Do they have another permanent or session drummer? It sure sounds like it this time.

That drum machine just did not work with their tunes once their drummer left, I think it killed their sound and whole dynamic.

I'm really mixed on REM. I appreciate their skill, but about half of their songs I find to be really obnoxious. And the Shiny Happy People collaboration was, in my opinion, the worst song of 1991. :puke:

This, however, is pretty good!

Shiny Happy People was 17 years ago? Oh crap...

I completely concur with your assessment and hope this isn't the high-water mark of the new effort.

I've been an REM fan for years, but this song just doesn't cut it for me. I've been hearing in on commercial FM radio for several weeks now, and try as I might, just can't get into it. I've rated it a 3 -- and consider that generous.

Reminds me of "Bad Day" & "Animal" (the 2 "new" tracks from "In Time: The Best of R.E.M. 1988-2003."

I'm hoping for some more melodic tracks when the new album is released. (I wish there was an emoticon that was scratching its head in bewilderment.)

How bout you retire from rating every REM song you hear as a 3 or 4. You don't like them? Move along, just wait, your super sucky Pink Floyd will be on soon enough, I am sure.
Hey now, careful where you aim that thing! Smacking down a troll comment is one thing, but don't be messin' with the Floyd!
