The beatles were made into pop icons that the masses were told to worship and worship they obediantly did. How about the thousands of musicians that list the Beatles as influences? How about the hundreds of bands that have taken cues from some of the sounds the Beatles pioneered? Sure, some of their stuff was little more then a self indulgent LSD trip, but the vast majority of the Beatles catalog are both critical and commercial successes. Just because you don't like them, does not automatically mean that they were "pop icons that the masses were told to worship and worship they obediently did." |

Stingray Oct 01, 2010 - 06:21 | CALEXICO are basically unknown in Germany and possibly Europe. Of course there are certain enthusiast who know them and most other such bands, but even I had not heard of them - before RP introduced me! And I am thankful for the hint! They are a REAL GOOD band! Authentic especially - one of the most important factors for me to like a band! |
