woodchuk Jun 02, 2010 - 04:43 | Light my fire...meh...not their best.. My fave Doors tune is "The End"..I can hear the choppers coming into the LZ and Charlie shooting from along the treeline......... |
boober Aug 22, 2009 - 11:00 | "I'm an old blues man,and I think you understand ....I've been singing the blues, ever since the world began...yeah" Jim and Robbie loved the blues. |
Ericocean Aug 22, 2009 - 10:57 | I don't get the Doors either - one of the most overrated bands ever. It just isn't that good. |

The only really great song they have is Light My Fire , not even written by Jim Morrison. Haha...Jim had a voice to DIE for. And he did! This particular song is kind of weak. The Doors have been a guilty pleasure for me since I was a little kid. Light My Fire was far from their best song, but it was cool because the radio stations had to decide whether to play the long version or the short version. The LONG version was a pioneering step toward prog rock, a good or bad thing, depending one one's perspective... Anyway, they had some gems, like "Spy" and others that I've had too much wine to remember, and yeah, Jim was ridiculous, but DAMN, that VOICE! LOL |

Despite the fact that you're in the best town in WI, I gotta say that maybe all that cheese is gunking up your judgment! |

For man has closed himself up, till he sees all things through narrow chinks of his cavern." Just open your perceptions and don't try to think too much - thats the only way to understand the art of Morrison and The Doors... I really like your quote... can be said about many of the negative comments here. I know that living in the Doors era as a teen I found that the Doors (Jim Morrison) provided a very different musical escape that I enjoyed. Beauty is truly in the eye's/ear's of the beholder. |

I'd like to follow you on this. |
