suesblues Mar 16, 2013 - 02:41 | nooooooooooooo, this foray into the early 80s is going just a little too far! The Police's Message in a Bottle had some gumption, this is just plain bland, sorry. It doesn't give any sense of passion, really, just too wet and sentimental. |
Lazarus Jan 12, 2013 - 09:26 | This song makes me feel all warm inside... love it... |

rockpommel16 Dec 31, 2012 - 11:44 | ....a 7 for the music + 1 for the memories = 8 from the german jury.......well done,bill....thx...forgotten HOW good this song is.... |
WakeUpWorld Oct 29, 2012 - 18:47 | This has alway been one of my favorite songs, understated guitar, just perfect. If you like this song, you be be pleasantly surprised at the Steve MIller Band song, "Circle of Love". There is a similar tone on Steve's 2 1/2 minute guitar solo duing the fade and I think you will enjoy it. You Tube it. I am not saying that it is better than this song, few songs are.... |
enidualc Oct 29, 2012 - 18:44 | so beautiful, still. |
pixelpeda Oct 24, 2012 - 08:47 | This ist not only one of the best songs ever. This is also from one of the best vinyl albums ever. Starting from the great cover design going through deeply touching and genious lyrics and finally never ending in whatever this music does or has done with it's listener. Thank you Mark Knopfler for beeing and thank you Bill for not forgetting! |
ycb661 Oct 10, 2012 - 06:56 | Indigo Girls' version: it's overly dramatic (is that a sexist thing to say?), but it's great. avatar71 wrote: I have to vote for the Indigo Girls version too... |
kimschoice Sep 28, 2012 - 07:14 | Bill, please play the live version. Really adds another element to this song that has made it one of my "10"s. |

ziakut Aug 27, 2012 - 18:45 | I have a new found respect for Mark Knopfler in Dire Straits, but even more so as a solo artist. This is a great tune. Never at a lost for good lyrics and expertise in the 'guitar department'. What more can one ask for...? Hey...Bob Dylan...this is how to speak/sing, dude. |
