this is a great song to drive to...
..what's velocitaptor got to do with it?..
Guitar riff at the beginning reminds me of Iron Maiden's "Aces High". Greetings from London.
SO bored of this song - it just doesn't hold up.

This is the best of their recent work, and that's saying something. After 2006/2007 they fell off the radar and went a bit wacko stylistically. At the time I was glad they hadn't stuck to writing the swaggering football terrace anthem style of song that was their bread and butter. In retrospect, those were unfortunately far more enjoyable than the songs from their last three albums. Some of their stuff has been so off the wall as to be almost incomprehensibly dreary. Can't believe they're still signed. Meighan's voice just doesn't work with the current stuff they're doing. At least they aren't applying weird processing to all the instruments and his voice now, some of their previous singles are borderline unlistenable to me. (I consider myself a VERY tolerant music fan when it comes to music outside of my regular scope!) A generous four for this, mostly because Meighan (mostly) stayed in tune and it didn't feel like a cheap weed-induced attempt at stoner indie rock.

"Maneater" wasn't exactly a personal favorite, and likewise this isn't my favorite Kasabian song. Their debut was fantastic but I haven't heard anything at that level from them since. |
Vocally he sounds like a slurred version of Liam Gallagher, conclusion utter rubbish.

Can't give this more than a 4.
