I wonder if they have any decent music left in them. Really enjoyed "Rush of Blood" and "Parachutes" but not much after that. No shame in making two pretty good albums but not being able to follow up.

My shallow opinion is that Coldplay was much better before Chris met Gywneth. Glad he's happy though - that's worth more to the universe than satisfying my taste in music.

Where can I download this song?! Been looking for this version for ages ... it's so much better than the album version.

A bit like the Kraftwerk it's based on then?

The shorter version is more tolerable. But Coldplay has grown on me. It's a shock to the system if you're more attuned to heavy metal.

A sort of...Rush of blood to the head...?

Automatic made. Shallow and forgettable.

This album was the soudtrack for a big breakup - most of the songs seem to be about just that - and although Coldplay is shameless candy pop I really developed an appreciation for this and their first two albums even though it made my taste in music a little suspect. This is one of the weakest songs on the album, though - I was surprised that they released it as the first single.

Speed of Sound was the first single. :)

I have never bought a Coldplay album, but I certainly don't hate them and frankly I find the venom they seem to engender baffling. This is another great song that belatedly brought me back to Kraftwerk's Computer Love which I had never listened to when I was 12 in 1981. I wonder if that ever gets any play on RP.

There is very little Kraftwerk played here but a couple of the notes from that riff remind me of the song "Computer Love" and the theme throughout the "Computer World" album (which I listened too very frequently in 1981 and after), as well. I think this song is pretty likable, despite its detractors.

i'm getting tired of all these negative comments. simply use the PSD button if you hate it so much...

From 5 to a 4. Definitely doesn't wear well with age. Perhaps had it not been so overplayed from the outset.

Can we just call Coldplay the poor man's U2? What a sad rip-off.
