I guess some space aliens haven't learned the difference between "effected" and "affected".  Nice helmet, but the "foam" concept may not be so much fun.

Its bizzare when they do that to musical instruments.  I saw a picture once with a 'left handed' piano; took me ages to figure out they had flipped it over to put text in the curve...

I'm a little bit understanding because I can see how you'd be all wrapped up in wiring it and maybe working backwards (from the back of the sign) and just not seeing it clearly.

Could also be like the guy at our local county fair whose fresh-squeezed lemonade stand did a great business, in part because people kept coming up and saying "did you know your sign is upside down?" And then they'd see the lemons and think, well as long as I'm here I might as well have one.

Okay.  So it's strange enough to get a manuscript where one of the authors is deceased (and the corresponding author doesn't even mention it in his cover letter), but apparently, way out west, they have a different way of spelling "obituaries":  http://www.wsutoday.wsu.edu/default.asp?PageID=233
Edit:  Yes, of course I sent them an email pointing it out!  What kind of OCD slacker do you think I am? - and they just responded, thanking me for pointing it out.

Interesting... I just thought all flags had a "back" side that was, y'know, backwards.
