True, but my point is there is nothing wrong with being selfish. It is a basic tenet of human sanity and necessary for survival. Acts of charity are both selfish and selfless acts all in one, you are selfless because you are giving up something that you otherwise could have spent on yourself whether it be money, material possession or time and selfish because of the joy and appreciation you receive from the act. In other words, it's all good and to over analyze it IMO is a waste of time. Just do eeet! {#Daisy}

this is a really interesting topic. i think once you start to realize that what you're charitable acts are in some way selfish, its the beginning of being more selfless. if that makes sense...

For me personally, half the joy of doing an act of charity is keeping it on the lowdown.

That's exactly what happened to me. Couple years ago I started giving regularly, three or four times I guess, then they decided they didn't want mine anymore.

My uncle has a rare blood problem, he's getting at least one transfusion a week (!!), so the family has exhorted folks to donate. I'd do it if they'd take it!
