I have come to believe that any "God" who requires my
- acknowledgement, worship, adoration, belief - is't worthy of being called GOD.
I don't think God is insecure. |

Isn't having the words, "In God We Trust" printed on our money just as unconstitutional given the premise?

I could go on ad nauseam about this one, believe me.
But rather than "evolve", it's easier for established religions to attack science. Which is horribly unfortunate. I think what you've written would be a lovely direction for religion to go (whilst dropping all the hellfire/damnation and exclusion of others). |

Perhaps I need to rephrase what I was trying to say - to me, the essence of Christianity is the teachings of Christ. The Golden Rule - "Love your neighbor as yourself." "Even as ye have done unto the least of these, ye have done unto me."
All the mythology and cosmology and everything else is, at the end of the day, irrelevant. Whether the Lord created the heavens and the earth, whether there was a great flood that covered the earth for forty days and forty nights, whether man was created as is or evolved from other organisms - it's all irrelevant when it comes to how Christians should live their lives. "Love your neighbor" isn't conditional on who created what how, or even who said it.
They've invested too much in all their mythology, and lost track of the meaning. And that meaning isn't threatened by science, isn't even touched by it.
