There's always at least ONE person in writing groups that loves to hear themselves talk...and talk and talk (and of course they know it all), without being mindful of people having equal time.

When I worked for satan, I mean Time Warner, the first order of business at any meeting was figuring out when and where the next meeting would be and who was bringing the donuts. True story.

There are so many new innovation things that we're forced to participate in, because someone had this great idea for something. Stand up, sit down - walking meetings - conversation that Matter.
Another example was the DARE program - that's still in existence even though it's been proved to not work. Still, someone had this idea that it might be useful.

sigh. Maybe this is just being old and not seeing anything new under the sun.

Imagine the cost of 15 upper level people sitting for an hour. A massive waste of resources and money.

Well, sometimes. Today it was just that I have a crap ton of stuff to get done before week's end and we keep having all these damn meetings. It's hell when you're in "writer mode" to have to keep interrupting the zone.

Our company went Lean/Agile this year, and we have more meetings now than ever before, when that whole philosophy is about being more efficient and speedy.

Anyhoo, not exactly an ethically stellar QB lineup for the Stillers right now.  hiccup's a fan, and I'm going to enjoy giving her hell over this.
