The Gentle Leader: get it. We had something similar for our old big dog Rocket. It gently turns the head when they pull so it doesn't take long for them to figure out that they can lead a happy life without pulling on the leash.

The harness arrangements just let the dog lean into the pull even harder... tho that Monster Walker looks interesting. Seems like that Easy Walk doesn't have enough leverage to turn a strong dog.

Yeah, I've heard a harness is the worst thing one can use to control a dog.

She IS on a harness, they sent an Easy Walk (haha) harness with her. And I've tried a Monster Walker leash that a friend wasn't using. She is so driven (both by prey and ... er ... biz), it really hurts my hands to try and control her. I'm working with her with treats, but she's stubborn, and strong. I also have a Gentle Leader that I am going to try on her.

Not good for hands that have degenerative joint issues. Sigh.

It's hard to get them to heel while you're actually trying to take a walk. Chester was ...okay, so we didn't push it too hard. Rocket would lean into that prong collar with everything he had unless we had occasional remedial education...

He does put on one hell of a good show

Saw his recent tour and of all the times I've seen him since 1984 this was the longest one ever.  Did all of The River album and basically like a whole other greatest hits show back-to-back.  4 hours and he and the band rocked it!
