Now that the home visit is over ... and the visitor didn't even look at any rooms except the living room, kitchen and sunroom ... I am cleaning for Weezie. Trying (and I know it's impossible) to get rid of as much of the overwhelming Middy scent throughout the house as I can. Washed the dog beds. Vacuuming and mopping the floors. Might spray some Nature's Miracle in certain spots that I think will be pervaded by the lil black dog. Also need to clean out the car (when it's not 1,000 degrees out there though). It's good to have a reason to clean. {#Cheesygrin}

Thank you lovers. He went everywhere with me so I see him everywhere; all his favorite pee spots, all his favorite people. He sort of had a fan club, everyone making over him; glad to see him and to scratch his super soft ears, those furry bedroom slippers...

He was a stray, you know. As am I. We had a lot in common me and that dog. I had 6 dogs up through the early 90's; all acquired or adopted in one way or another, All quite loved. All waiting for me to come home every day. Then there was one; Roxy.  She was a sweet and vocal little terrier mix with lots of attitude and a heart murmur that I my ex and I got as a pup. I wanted her to be able to live her life out without the competition of other dogs, but someone told me that I might be surprised how much she might perk up with another one around. I knew she missed her sister of a different mother named Lucy, a sweet dalmatian mix which lived to 12 and had a brain tumor.

So, to make a longer story shorter, my ex came home and told me of a co-worker who boarded a horse outside of town. The co-worker told her of a beautiful dog that had appeared to be living alone in the woods and hanging around the stable. The stable owner had fed him occasionally and let him hang around but couldn't catch him at first. Finally he would come up to the house and play with the children. He seemed to be sick and they caught him and took him to the vet where they treated him for a bacterial infection from eating garbage and some bruises possibly from being kicked by a horse. Subsequently efforts were made to locate his owner but all for nought. He was supposed to be mine...or me his.

So, we went out to have a look at him...

FIxed / rewired the water heater in the boat. It won't be as fast, but it will work everywhere and this is the way it should be set up. Also found a hint on one other thing that hasn't been behaving as I would like - but I didn't feel like going full chiropractic today so I'm taking the afternoon off - with hot water for a shower!

Yes indeed.  I took a cig break.  Back when I was going through my chemo and crap, I hadn't written a thing for nearly 7 months other than scrawling my name on a form.  When it came time to re enter the world and attempt things like work.  It was really hard to start writing, anything again, even in simple print.  It hurt to even grip a pen for a while.  The shop where I attempt to work at these days just got into paperless, we were still using two part carbonless for jobs until just 2 years ago, here in the 21st Century.  Me I think it still has its place, but I digress.  I got to see my handwriting on cards that in some cases went back almost 10 years.  I used to have very neat and precise block printing and in my absence my handwriting was noticed and appreciated.  I found that out when I came back.  Now its pretty crappy.  I just can't seem to do it well anymore and its been quite a few years that I have been returned now.

Now the cursive.  Been at it for about a week now and its kinda working.  Another thing, as I was writing, I asked myself what was the difference between a diary and a journal and put a little arrow in the margin.  A page and about 10 minutes later, the thought came back, that a diary is a log and a journal, at least what I'm doing, is a stream of thought cathartic process that is just one way to mental floss.  But I never kept a diary, so I'm just guessing on that part.

Back to tunes and scribbling into the night.

Journaling.  The old fashioned way with pen and paper.  And I'm forcing myself to do it in cursive.  I need the catharsis.  The journals here are now history, but the need has not gone away.  I latched onto some books a vendor dropped of in the shop that were made in Italy with nice binding and great paper that has enough body to it that I can write on both sides and not see through to the other side and the ink doesn't blot over to the other facing page.  The downside is that in case I ever decide to write a book, it has to be transcribed.  But that will likely never happen.  And I cannot readily share any thoughts for feedback as I liked to do here with our journals. So its midnite ish here at the fort, I just made a pot of coffee and am about to twist one up, listen to some music quietly and muse into the night.  One thing that will be interesting is to see how my handwriting evolves over time and at a particular time as I get back into physical, stream of conscience writing and without spellcheck.  What's the lyric ?  Alone again, naturally ...
