Yes, this is actually a second round of blooming. I love them. The coneflowers are spent, but the critters don't seem to mind. Blooming next (to the right) will be the New England aster, which is crazy prolific.

yes! Lots of bumbles and honeybees this year. and always a ton of skippers. I try to ID them, but they move too fast.
is that butterfly milkweed planted among your coneflowers? very pretty.

Thanks! I hadn't seen any Monarch caterpillars so this flutterby was very cool to see! The black one is a spicebush swallowtail, nice to see since I have spicebush planted. I always see lots of skippers. Nice to see the big and little bees too. {#Daisy}

Something I've never seen before: a high speed chase. Guy on a small motorcycle careened onto the divided highway I was driving on, right in front of a van. He skidded around on the shoulder a bit, righted himself and the next thing I know/hear is the siren. I got out of the way and watched the cop car pursue him. He turned onto another road just a ways up and I lost sight of them. {#Motor}
