Used to work near a roosting area for about 10,000 crows. It was amazing to see the waves of them flying in at sunset. Quickly learned which bus stop not to use.

{#Yes}

I have read (can't find the article during a quick search) that some corvids have two sets of languages—one used for a larger group like a flock (or murder) of crows, another for a smaller, family-like group.

They can recognize individual humans by their faces (or masks) and remember how a human treated them. They can understand the death of one of their own. They are amazing problem-solvers (esp. the West Caledonian crow).

Often during the fall winter days, crows by the hundreds would congregate on my elementary school's playgrounds and start cawing and flapping. Class would grind to a halt as everyone ran to the window, wondering if the crows were gathering to attack us a la "The Birds."

What's cool is I could have guessed that there would be land-locked drainages around the Great Salt Lake, Salton Sea, Death Valley, and I'm pretty sure there's one in Oregon too. But this map shows several small drainages that just don't go anywhere. I wonder if they're all briny. The one in Oregon, there's a guy who farms brine shrimp but the lake is drying up.

Didn't hear it, but saw it on their website. That album is only 2 inches square. Amazing.
