Dog tired. Even though Peski has been fixed she was in heat last night and moaned and howled until 5:30am. Then she finally ate and crashed next to me on the bed. Then at 8am she woke me up by licking my face and started howling again. So I kicked her ass outside but I could still hear her howling out there. I tried to get back to sleep and couldn't. So I called the vet that "fixed" her and she told me sometimes enough the ovaries remain to produce the hormone that puts them in heat. Great.

I like to cook Jims in beer, both to soften the meat and to remove some of the salt, grease and smoke flavor - and I believe that is a good move.

Look at the stunning amount of red greasy sludge that is sucked out of the Slim Jims when you boil them:

before

after

rendered Jim grease (applied topically -90 spf)

Same here. I swear to Got, the guy across the street has a rocket launcher.

And the funniest thing is that my cat is never phased by the noise. She's relaxed and dozing, in fact....

So I have the best dwelling for seeing about 4-5 different major fireworks going on all up the river (from our bluff) - but the big Gatsby-like home just across the river had a big party and a private fireworks show....like it was just for us.

Good times.

Wow. Does Visine help at all? I always have to use it at night, when my eyes have had enough.

Nope, I have this stuff but I always forget to use it. Maybe I should start using it before bed at night so that I don't wake up "crying" then use it again when I first get up to see if that helps.

My allergies have been really kicking my ass the last few days and all this heat and humidity haven't been helping any.
