Me, too.  10 is an overly optimistic number actually.  I've been saying to 70 for awhile which is about 8 years from now.  Pisses off the wife when I say it out loud.

Interesting.  I looked up Combivent and one ingredient is my nasal spray and the other one is the albuterol  for my nebulizer.  The little vials of albuterol for the nebulizer are dirt cheap, like a $4 generic scrip or something.

Have you gone to the VA for drugs ?  I know that my father did and it saved him a boatload.  Didn't use it for doctors, just meds.

yeah, I've got emphysema to go along with the bronchitis.  Its a real bitch, especially when the humidity goes up.  But getting the post nasal drip under control has been a game changer at night.  My body is pretty well spent from all the chemo.  Maybe 10 more years left to go with it at the most I figure.  My lung function went from 90% to 80% in the past year.  A lung transplant would be real cool, but I don't see that happening.

The wife was a pro painter for 30 years so I know what you are going through.  She's having a real tuff time, too.

Suddenly it's a very quiet Sunday morning in 1982 and I'm sitting in a hospital ward full of indigent women in various stages of labor and this comes on the eclectic radio program I listen to.
Cup of coffee. Some quiet periodic moaning in the background, waiting for one of the recent Vietnamese immigrant women to announce that she needs the toilet. She'll really go in the bathroom, stand on the seat, squat, and try to deliver the baby without us knowing. We'll encourage her to lay on her back and do it the more difficult way, the way it wasn't done for all the other millennia.

It's a room full of quiet, joyful, subtle expectation and (mostly) happiness.
That's what this tune always brings out in me - but especially this quiet beautiful Sunday.

Thanks, BillG

Damn.  I've been battling a brutal round of bronchitis for the past two months.  The antibiotics aren't working anymore, either.  Nor are the antihistamines.  All's I got working is my nebulizer to help keep me bringing the stuff up.  My pulmanologist gave me a scrip for Atrovent nasal spray to stop the post nasal drip which really ruins things at night like you just described.  After a couple of weeks, it has begun to make a difference.  I have been very leery of using a nasal spray of anykind like forever, but this is working and making a huge difference.  Maybe time for a mega dose of prednisone ?  Do you have Silver Sneakers with your Medicare plan ?  A steamroom is also a wonderful thing as well.

I've been tried on and become immune to everything they've tried including steroids and Benadryl. Prednisone is another steroid I was tried on but the side effects were to bad for me..
I used to have Bronchitis almost constantly and the antibiotics also quit working. Turned out I had lung cancer and the tumor was harboring the bacteria causing it. After they removed a 7.7cm tumor along with part of my right lung I never got Bronchitis again.
