Thanks for your advice. Perhaps it is a bandwidth issue. When I was having trouble it was peak time, and when the higher rates worked was quite late in the evening. Does this sound plausible? P

I just tested out the 192 OGG stream through the RP app, and it worked just peachy. Samsung Galaxy Nexus

try installing winamp from the play store

and give that a shot

edit: i can't remember if i've never tried to stream ogg to my android devices, however when i get home i'll give it a shot and let you know what i find out

It is a brand new tablet. 16GB mem 1.5Ghz processor, etc... I think it's pretty well spec'd. I checked the specs and OGG is certainly listed as a supported audio format. It might be worth mentioning that I'm only using it on my wi-fi network and not elsewhere.

Hello, I hope you can help.

I bought my first android device yesterday and downloaded the RP widget. For a while I couldn't get it to play the station until I chose 64k mp3 in the settings menu. I then discovered that I could stream RP using both ORG options, but had to wait a little longer for them to start playing. Today I can't seem to get it to work with anything but 64k mp3. so ... moving to Audacious!

Using the tagged stream (stream-sd...), I had almost no problems with rhythmbox, but vlc glitches. It's a nuisance, but it's also a player issue, as far as I understand. I still prefer the tagged stream over the untagged, esp. as the new website makes it much harder to follow the playlist (the old supported "reload", the new one doesn't).

problem is still there, Amarok 2.3 + Xine backend, my favorite player.
But stream works great with Audacious 2.4 + Pulseaudio
so ... moving to Audacious!
