When my niece took her life in 1998, it was a very traumatic time for her mom (who found her)—-and, in her grief, she allowed my brother to handle their daughter's ashes however he saw fit.

Heather had spent a good deal of her life in California, where her mom and dad moved in the early 80s (from Ohio) and where her mom still lived. But my brother wanted to bring her back to Ohio and inter her in my mother's flower garden. He felt that his daughter's happiest years were her childhood, when she was around the family.

This past summer, they moved Mom to assisted living and emptied her house to sell it. My sister Laura very reverently exhumed the box of Heather's ashes, scattered some there in the yard, some on my brother's grave (Heather's dad) with family members in attendance, and sent the rest back to her mother in California.

Today, on what would have been Heather's 44th birthday, her mother scattered her remaining ashes into the Pacific with lovely wreaths of plumeria. The waves were big and crashing and received Heather immediately.

The circle is complete.

 Well,judging from the photos from the "Pics of when you were a kid" and that we look like twins and the fact that you're from Ohio,I think we should do some research.

 We probably should not have children until this is figured out.{#Lol}
