I have been on a loose version of that diet for about 3 months now. However I actually increased my beer intake for health reasons. I completely cut out all liquids except for water, coconut water and an occasional beer for my heart. I don't consider it a diet though this is how I will permanently be eating for the rest of my life, it is a lifestyle.  Even though beer may not be allowed on your strict paleo diet, it is actually good for you in moderation as part of a paleo lifestyle if that makes any sense.

We'll probably stay primarily paleo after the 30 days, but for this period we're being hardcore about it - no exceptions.

I was gonna be hardcore with it too, but is difficult to do primarily for financial reasons (organic grass fed protein, vegetables and so forth). I kind of settled for a modified version of eating all of the proper foods, cutting out the bad but not always being able to get strictly organic veggies and grass fed meats all the time. Like I said this is a lifestyle change so you just gotta do the best you can.

This is pretty much my diet already, but I am sure I add stuff that keeps me from losing weight.

Yeah but what food groups? I'll admit to just doing a wee bit of skimming, so I'm somewhat ill-informed. Alcohol, tobacco, grease, salt and sugar do seem to be a bit under-represented, though.

i'm on a version of it now

basically it is what your body is designed to eat

a high fat, vegetarian diet with some animal protein (grass fed or pastured)

grass fed beef is good for you and insanely delicious but more expensive

healthy fats include grass fed butter, coconut oil, flax oil, etc

the key is to control your insulin and leptin

you do that and the fat will flee from your body

glycation is not your friend

if you have protein sensitivity, ease back on the AP and boost your fat intake

experiment

read art de vany, sisson, wolf, kruse, asprey, etc

i have two of sisson's cook books and they are very good

peace and chicken grease

My go to is The Rice Diet.  Fill up on fruit.  Add veggies.  Whole grains.  Fish (& chicken if you want).  Cut out salt and sugar.  Easy.  Simple.  Nothing special to buy.  And who doesn't love to eat fruit?  All the fiber will make you feel full.  And regularity won't be a problem.  Since you won't be consuming as much sodium you won't need to drink as much so don't let that freak you out.  If you know you are going to sweat a lot one day, be sure to add extra sodium to your diet - an extra piece of whole-grain bread does it for me.  At first food will taste bland but after a couple of days it will be like quitting smoking, food will start tasting DELICIOUS.  Weird but true.

Anything that gives up grains and legumes ranks as extreme in my book!
