Whether working on the 'net, preparing a meal, on a roadtrip, or just sitting on my deck enjoying the sunset, it is a good chance that RP is there with me. Since my discovery of RP in 2004 I have been an avid listener and supporter. My musical horizons have been broadened by the choices of music that B&G play. I have found whole new pleasures in genres to which I would otherwise not have had a consistent exposure. I have also had my boundaries affirmed as to what I do not like... but at least I have had the opportunity of making a choice based upon listening, rather than mere prejudicial dismissal. Radio Paradise has made of me a better person. Thank you RP. Everyone in my kitchen agrees with all that you wrote. |

I second the original post. I find myself at times just shaking my head in that I-can't-believe-this-site-is-so-awesome kind of way. I wanted to like those Pandora-type sites because there is something attractive about having songs similar to a song you like play on and on. But the downer there is the same reason: all the songs sound similar. Yeah, maybe they're different bands and unknown ones at that, so there's a kind of education to it, but still—the music starts to sound the same. And I'm often disappointed in "regular people" playlists (like 8Tracks.com) because their playlist titles are more promising than too often the actual playlist pays off to be. (The only "ultimate workout" playlist is my own, I've decided :D) I'm thinking hard here, and I can't think of a single song you've played (while I've been listening) for these several years now that I have flat-out hated. But I can think of lots of songs that I really liked or hella liked. The majority of my iPhone playlist has come from songs you taught me to like by exposing me to them. I have given iTunes and Amazon a good chunk of my entertainment budget because of your site. My only whine is that I really liked your tag line early on: "Eclectic music for the intelligent listener." I wish you still used it as part of your advertising. I still use that to explain the site to my friends. Wrapping up here, you two have one of the best trees to sit under in the whole park that is the internet. Cheers.
