Our ongoing project to trap/neuter or spay/release the cats in the feral colony around our house has met with success.  Since January, we have trapped and altered 8 wild cats.  4 were re-homed as barn cats, and 4 were returned to their colony.  We succeeded in trapping all of the breeding females.  WOOT!  Tomato juice all around!  (we're currently doing a 30 day diet that includes NO ALCOHOL!)

Yes, absolutely.  Part of me is missing.

Jack was very gentle, and sweet, and highly sensitive....and he was COMPLETELY bonded to me,and I to him.  He started communicating with me the day my ex took him and Riley to be declawed and neutered when they were just 8 weeks old.  Jack jumped up on the couch next to me, sat back on his haunches, held up his poor mutilated paws, looked into my eyes, and cried.

I felt SO BAD...but the ex had insisted that my cats would ruin his furniture if they weren't declawed. I refused to do it, so he did it.

Anyway, from that heart breaking moment on, Jack and I knew each other's souls.

So when I looked in his eyes last Sunday, and he groaned, I knew what he needed.

He went through everything with me.  The abject heart break of lost love, rejection, and utter humiliation, being single and nearly destitute for several years, all of the weird dates with weirder men, then Dave...then a cross country move, job changes, another move....  and he was always there whenever I would lie on or in the bed.  Always there behind me on the back of the couch.

Touching my head, kneading my neck.  Purring in my ear.  Always.  When I had no one else to comfort me or talk to me, I had Jack.
