CONCORD, N.H. (AP) — The Old Farmer's Almanac, the familiar, 223-year-old chronicler of climate, folksy advice and fun facts, is predicting a colder winter and warmer summer for much of the nation.

Published Wednesday, the New Hampshire-based almanac predicts a "super-cold" winter in the eastern two-thirds of the country. The west will remain a little bit warmer than normal.

Had a line of storms blow through about an hour ago. Lots of power outages around town. Traffic is a mess due to traffic signals being dead.

We have power, fortunately. I think the storms are over for a while.

Only purpose is it puts money in the pockets of the people that build them.

If you're too lame to get out of the way of a truck that's backing up,isn't that a Darwinian thing anyway?

And if El Nino gets going strong we'll have a mild winter.  After last winter that will be much appreciated.
