It's the why did I bother to shower, 90-100% humidity time of the year. Not the most wonderful.

Lots of rolling thunder, raining cats, dogs and city buses. A real gully washer. Flash flood warning. Power got knocked out for a few. 0.88 inches in 26 mins....

Hit the high 90s yesterday (my dad read 103 on his kitchen window but I only saw 98, 99 around town), which is great for the 4th of July. Today we'll be lucky to get to the low 70s. Blame Canada, they're sending a cold front down, along with smoke from their fires. The smell is really strong today, and the fires are 600 miles away.

Speaking of blaming Canada, I was rummaging thru my T-shirts to find one that was red, white, and blue to wear to the family 4th of July BBQ, including some probable future inlaws from my niece's boyfriend's family... found the perfect one ... blue shirt, giant red Maple leaf and "Canada" in 5" high white... but then realized that even though they like to say they're the 51st State, it's not really true, so I decided it might be seen as inappropriate. Turns out the new people have a great sense of humor so it would have been fine, but I don't need to be the black sheep in any more families (like 3 and counting already).

Yep.
Ugly.
We had that dew point last Thursday with a 110° F. temp.
Really ugly.

Today is going to be hot... but the dew point fell to 50.
Not to bad.

Raining and the sun isn't supposed to come out for a few days. Bummer for those with 3 or 4 day weekends.

Hot, sunny and dry.  The California drought has spread north.

Several rivers are flowing at the lowest recorded rates since 1951.    !!!

If nothing changes, the in-river salmon mortality will be high and the forest fires will be plentiful.

Weekend was a wash out. Monday, beautiful partly sunny skies, dry air, mid 70s temps.
This was the second nasty weekend in a row...time for employers to consider a "floating weekend" at least for the summer months.

We actually got some good rain last night.  A heavy soaker that lasted a bit. It will be all dry by the 4th, but it was a good break.

It was beautiful out today. Got down in the 60's last night so no AC needed and stayed in the 70's most of the day. Its 84 now the peak temp of the day so far. Supposed to be low 60's tonight so another AC repreive. A very nice break from the 100 plus weather the last couple of weeks.

To be fair they did say slight chance of frost. It was my own fault to interpret it as chance of slight frost and not cover the sensitive plants.
