RIP to Milo the 19 year old cat who I found as a scrap of a kitten in an apartment in North Philadelphia at the age of about 6 weeks.... being stepped on by a 3 year old..... he lived with me and my bf at the time til I left with my cat Missy, and he kept Milo-mew..... Milo then went to live with the ex-es mother, who moved to Denver some years back (I helped her and the Mew move out there.)
LeMew was put to sleep on Monday.
I've never had a cat live that long. Crazy,      what a life!

What a phenomenally lucky and adaptable cat. Condolences and props for 19 years well spent on either end. As one who has let's just say "very many " cats, all formerly dumped, hurt and/or feral, I know this to be true: You put your cat to sleep because you are willing to take on the pain of missing them in order to free them of suffering or just feeling like cr*p.  That is the payback for 19 years of love and cat-loving lessons. So you have them put to sleep. They peacefully "die." They take a good long nap like a played-out kitten and the next thing they know they are waking up in heaven. You remember them kindly and when they are ready, they come back...as your next cat.
