I played around with it a little more and created an image that did get the error message. Apparently the condition is not being checked for until the final submit.  You don't get the message with multiple previews.  It only shows up when you finally post it.  The only difference between the two I can see is the one that does get the error is considerable larger although small enough to paste into the URL field in the insert image popup window in the editor. They both start out "data:image/jpeg;base64,/9j/4AAQSkZJRgABAQ" and by that point I don't have a clue as to what I'm looking at.

Thanks. I'll investigate that. Details about how you can trigger a false error would be helpful.

It's just that the error says "dragging and dropping" when what I think it is actually checking for is the "DATA:" format.  I remembered answering a question another user posted when they got the message without dragging and dropping. It was when I was searching for my earlier post to cut and paste for another user that I noticed all the recent instances of the troublesome format.  Dragging and dropping continues to work fine as long as the image being dropped has the proper URL format. I was unable to get the error when I was playing around with it but all the bad images I could readily find were the ones that had already passed through the editor.  Also I only went as far as preview in my testing.  If the check doesn't happen until the final submit then all my tests were pointless.  The data format images are still getting through somehow though.

Edit: I can drag and drop this one from another post (the first one I linked to seems to have been deleted).

The fix you put in to prevent images from using the 'src="data:...' format is not working all the time. Here is one example and there seem to be several others.  Also the "dragging and dropping" error message has been confusing some users when they get it as there are other ways create the problem.  I even accidentally did it once when I didn't look closely enough while copying the URL out of the browser's address window.  I'm not sure how I would word it to keep it non geeky enough to be understandable to all though.

Ah, gotcha.  That was a one-time glitch, unrelated to the song playing.

That's now the second corrupted track of Suzanne Vega's that I've noted.  It's a conspiracy to mess her tunes up!

Netflix changed Chrome so it uses HTML5 only now instead of Silverlight but it won't work on my Mac and others can't get it to work either. At some point they must have updated Silverlight with this bug as it used to play nice with RP streaming.

I'll see if I can replicate that.
