Now standing tall against having legal ( not religious) recognition and equality for another class of tax paying, voting, consenting adults and citizens. And doing so with the warmth of the Christian bible to confort their cold hands.

Because that which is contrary to their definition of moral, because that which challenges their institutionalized "superiority", and because grasping outrage against that differs from their "vision" provides for a continuing demon to stir up their base. Morals don't exist without someone in judgement, and who better than them, who better than the "uniters"? Who more appropriate than the "compassionate conservatives"?

Having "the gays" to rail against, to cast as outsiders, to point at as "the others" is a fine tool - always available to rile up the sheep into a judgemental (and money-giving, voting) frenzy. Maintain the base, keep them riled up against "them" and scared of the threat from "the others" ... and continue to be in power because your base is riled up, scared, giving your causes money, and voting for you from their ignorance and fear.

Those who disagree just need to look at their sin. They're uniting the country behind god-fearing morals! They're healing the divisions of society by returning to traditional values! Those who disagree should just get out. One nation under God. Love it or leave it.

Hypocritical lying self-serving moralistic fascist fuckers.

And the moral voting sheeple, without thinking, or questioning, or seeking any understanding beyond that which they're told - nothing beyond that which they've been taught - say baaa-aaaaa-aaah.
