There's a pre season sports term some hard core aficionados use- BSOHL.or best shape of his life. Then there's this wise guy-

Joey Votto is here and talked about his offseason goals. “I tried to get fatter. I succeeded at that apparently. We did all the testing and I am fatter."

I actually got an Ichiro, which I think was one of the first bobblehead players. Was visiting Seattle; there was a line down the block from the entrance, around the corner and back up to the park when we got there. Then they opened the gate right behind us :-)

Tim Lincecum throws showcase for 20-plus teams

He was throwing in the 90s, but he wasn’t throwing in the mid-90s. Let’s talk about what that means.

By

Tim Lincecum threw a showcase for 20-plus teams outside of Seattle today, and the early reports were mostly positive. According to a scout who talked to the Seattle Times, Lincecum was throwing between 90 and 92 mph. Jon Heyman pushed that up to 93. But his fastball certainly wasn’t a time machine that took scouts back to 2009.

If you’re a fan of the Giants signing Lincecum to compete for a spot in the rotation, that’s a good thing.

That's pretty cool, actually. Including the Cold-War-esque scenario where some Astros player gets loose lips in the vicinity of a sympathetic ear. Isn't that the sort of information you'd want to just sit on forever?

You would think so, but you would also expect it to be shared with teammates so with players moving from team to team as much as they do now you wouldn't expect it to stay secret very long either.
