It's bad enough my home team is a bunch of losers, but they become unwatchable with this 3rd rate broadcast team.

Congrats to all of you who are fans of teams that are playoff bound, or at least still in the hunt.  We Cubs and Twins, and other out-of-the running teams' fans, hope for "next year".

My special condolences to any Brewer fans.  They were the best bet to get more new teams in the playoffs (Sorry STL, but please go away for a while).

The Last Week of regular season play is bittersweet baseball for some of us, but the playoffs look to be lots of fun.  Then, the unspeakably bleak period until the next Opening Day...

All of the ones I've seen only change at the top and middle of the inning when the teams are changing sides.  Depending on how big the scroll is and how far it has to go to get to the one it wants it can take twenty seconds or more to change and there is that ridiculous 12 second rule they added a couple of years ago.  I don't think I've ever seen one that even changed between batters.  They might do it at pitching changes but probably for simplicity's sake they sell the ads by the half inning.  The one exception though was a game I was watching on TV a few years ago.  The ad that had come up for that inning was for Mobile and was their logo which is just the word Mobile on a white background.  Some of the fielders complained about it being difficult to pick up the ball against the white background and after two or three pitches on the first batter the umps stopped the game until the sign was changed.  For one brief shining moment the game took precedence over the advertising.  I was walking on clouds for weeks.  I too don't think the Marlins would or could do it.  My guess is that some soulless advertising dweeb with no interest at all in the game suddenly noticed he had put the wrong sign up and felt it had to be changed immediately.  I would hope that those responsible for it will have the situation explained to them very slowly and using small words.  It's probably already happened and it will be awhile before they do it again.

You're right, they are the old style banners that scroll, supposedly between pitches. That's a violation of rules (I remember when these billboards were first introduced and it was made very plain that they must not be changing during play. That's why the green screen tech is so popular. If the Nats had lost this game, they would have had reason to contest it and probably would have won. That Zimmerman got knocked down by a batted ball while the sign was changing... that was uncool.

I don't think the Marlins have the group intellect to do it on purpose, though.

Then an inning later the announcers, who I assume have multiple feeds, backed up what I thought was an acid flashback.(just kidding,I've never done that*cough*).

I don't really care.If my Pops is Ok tomorrow I'll call it a + day and let Vegas deal with it.

I've got no skin in this.

Just too lazy to use character map to say my 2 cents.

they came right back and got 3 off of Kershaw... that's more than they have a right to expect, so too bad they're in the hole, that's probably all they're gonna get now. Altho they did bring the tying run to the plate just now...

It's the 40 man roster.  They're all back now.  Not only that but I've heard Jackson is coming off the DL to start tomorrow for the game I'm going to.  Given that Soler has played two days in a row there's not much chance I'll get to see him this year now.  And as if that weren't bad enough their probable starter is Kershaw.  Sometimes I don't do a very good job of picking dates.

I hate to say it but the best thing about the game will probably be that you got to see Kershaw.
