There are quite a few of them that are a good deal meaner and not nearly as funny as the Hunter Pence ones but that's to be expected first because they are Boston fans and second because the target is someone other than Hunter Pence.

That's pretty good.  They just need more time to loosen up.  Once the season starts it should get pretty funny.  I like that they're mostly silly things, not malicious.

I guess Google can just get these obsessive fixations from time to time. When I looked into the expanded Cubs section this morning the headlines for 17 of the 20 stories they picked up had the name Jon Lester in them somewhere.

Apparently all they can talk about on ESPN right now is the Cubs.

I certainly don't begrudge the Giants their win.  In fact felling as I do about the DH I always feel compelled to root for the NL team even if it's the Cardinals (though I won't do it publicly).  And given your success in recent years I can certainly understand how a good deal of celebration is in order as well.  However I have my Google news page set to have a section the picks up just the stories about the Cubs so I can get to the important stuff first and I really didn't appreciate seeing this before I'd even finished my coffee.

Boston was thinking he'd come back to them but "them" is in Chicago now, yeah? The people he won with, who brought him up... it makes a lot of sense. And all the other teams that he was in negotiations with, they all went to Atlanta to talk to him. He went to Chicago. That said it all, I thought.

But good lord do we need some pitchers. Like 4 starters ought to about do it.

As a long time Cubs fan I know better than to get overoptimistic but I'm starting to think we might have a real chance of finally getting above .500 again.
