I wonder if they still sell Stroh's beer at Tony Packos?

Ah, Stroh's.  There's an old name that once ruled Cleveburg back in the day.  Mostly as 3.2 beer when that was all you could get under 18 years old.  Actually was pretty good.  You could trade that for Coor's and Olympia back then when you couldn't get either on the other side of the Mississippi River.

Another oldie but goodie from then only found in our neck of the woods is Vernor's.  Yummmm !!!!!!!

I think the Oakland Coliseum is the last of the concrete palaces. I'll be sad to see it go tho, only because I sold hotdogs there once. And saw a lot of games there, including several that I was able to take my dad to. But it's pretty nasty. I hope the East Bay figures out how to keep the A's around. Scraping that coliseum off and building new would be great, but the pressure to move the team 50 miles south is pretty intense. And the Giants won't allow it, so that's going to push the A's to some other town. Sacramento would be okay, and there was talk of keeping them in the East Bay but in Fremont... that's probably dead too. But if the Raiders really do move to Vegas, and the Warriors are going to San Francisco, that leaves the A's as the only tenant of the Coliseum/Arena so they can probably get a little more traction. The Raiders won't get anything but infrastructure from the City/County, but the idea of that whole area not having any team (SF is not the same) will probably shake some money loose, even if it's private.

tl;dr: Come on, Oakland, keep the A's!

No doubt, glad they're gone. I was thinking Philly's stadium was older than the Rox', but they snuck one in on me when I wasn't looking {#Lol}

And I remember when Jeff Kent did a wheelie on his motorcycle washed his truck and broke his hand. That was a breach of contract then so I hope Bum has to give about 10 million dollars to families with one-eyed cats or something.

I wondered about that when I heard the story too.  It's been close to twenty years, but there was a guy I worked with one offseason who was pitching double A in the Angels farm system.   He needed to get special permission before he could be on a parks and rec league company volleyball team.  I assume once you get to be a free agent in the majors though you can get most of the nanny stuff taken out of your contract.
