He said something like "I could have a big shallow fan base that expects the same thing from me, or a deep committed smaller base and I try different things."
Good choice!

"Do you know anything about what he's gonna do tonight?" No

I grimaced. Todd was playing only songs from the most recent three records (mostly the latest one, Global). No "Hello It's Me" or any other familiar favorites. The casual fan would be frustrated and lost.

Then this:

and in the middle of it the woman across the table, on her feet dancing along yells at me, "HOW FUN IS THIS!?!?!?!"

No,you'd have to cry out for help because the lower legs can get trapped/pinned in a vertical position, the vehicle has to be lifted off.Serious.

Seeing, along the road on my way home yesterday, a folding table with a cooler on it, with a small jar next to it. The handwritten, on cardboard, sign read: "Blackberries."

I mentioned to a co worker that I am scheduled off for a "chemo rebound day" next Monday, but that I would come to work if I could at all, because I am out of paid time off ( I was telling him because he has to fill in for me when I am off).

He marched right in to our boss and donated a day's worth of his hours so that I can stay home to deal with chemo after effects, and not have to worry about not being paid.  I work with amazing people.

That is so cool !  Not a little thing, but it is the little things that matter so much during the battle.
