We started with pagers but they eventually switched us to cellphones. I guess Motorola didn't want people to see Motorola employees without Motorola cellphones. The part I hated was they wanted us to answer within 3 rings even if you were in the can or at home asleep.

Most of what I did wasn't very time critical.  We did do some stuff for the private sector too though.  I did have one inventory control system that could cause a whole lot of hourly workers to stand around and do nothing if it malfunctioned.  I found that this situation really upsets the people in suits and it does behoove one to fix the problem ASAP.

Sounds like me with my "dumb" phone. I just know there will be assimilation some day. The only reason I could ever justify paying so much more is to have the ability to Facetime family who are far away. That would be good, not always having to be at home (with my laptop) to webcam with someone.

A friend of mine tells me to go in on a huge group plan with people so it won't be expensive. Everyone I know already has a plan. I might have to ask to join someone else's plan. And then I'll have to carry a big-ass clunky phone (the other reason I'm not assimilating).

It's a pretty easy work around for those of us still resisting assimilation.  The only tricky part this time was finding a post with the player in it I could steal the code from without being able to do a text search for www.facebook.com.  Fortunately I remembered a thread I had done it in before and only had to scroll back one page to find it.  If I were smart now that I have it again I would copy the code to a text file or just bookmark the post below (making sure to use the URL for the specific post and not the top of the thread).
