But "spirit" probably should be plural.

I am looking forward to getting some Kentucky Bourbon Ale (on tap!) and some Mad Elf — things that don't import west of the Mississippi!

(Even though my PDX beer snob friends say there are places that can order it—I checked a few, and they couldn't!)

Oh yea, we are pretty militant about it, no gifts...period.  This leaves nothing but the true holiday spirit.

It seriously is. I support people in adopting the giftless tradition. Especially people who get no joy at all from it...who feel it only causes stress and dislike of the holidays. I just want to tell them, well quit doing it then!

For our family it was about sitting around together talking, eating, having musical jams, playing games....watching the grandkids, etc.

Good on you. Tho Amazon is not all sweetness and light, either. Amazon does have the tremendous advantage - for me anyway - of being able to buy stuff from the comfort of my couch, with no need for human interaction.

Some things are hard to find here, even at Wal-mart.  Ordering from Amazon is better than driving 30 miles to Home Depot, or Home Despot, as DaveinVirginia calls it. {#Lol}
