For sure a quirky scene. This guy is sitting on a forklift working on a big metal sphere which is part of an art installation for Burning Man.

You are correct. Your pro account will go up to $50 a year. When you click for more info, it says "keep pro" or "choose free" or something like that, and the option to click for even more info.

If you choose free, you give up statistics on your photos, and you accept ads on your page, although the ads are unobtrusive to the whole layout. If you choose Pro, you get longer video clip sizes and a few other arcane things. If you choose Double, it's $500 a year for some reason.

I chose to go to Free, at which point they will refund my pro fees (prorated). The only thing that gave me pause was it said I cannot choose to upgrade back to pro in the future. I thought about that for a minute, then said Okeydoke.

Did they email something that I neglected to read? Because wow. $50.00 a year!

I could have sworn that when I (quickly) looked at Flickr earlier today it said that my Pro account would renew in October and the cost would be $24.95. I'll check more closely.

Thanks, Scott.

It appears to me that they're giving recurring pro members the option of renewing their pro accounts (for now).  No mention as to how long that will last, but I'm still seeing the option for me to renew my Pro membership 2 years for $44.95.

I'm weighing my options here, 'cause ads don't really bother me that much.  Thanks Ad Blocker!

Well I'm sure they'll sell more in the future but right now I can't even see any ads. Checked in 2 browsers in case I installed an ad blocker and forgot.
