There's a blue piece in a piano bar at the Bellagio (maybe more scattered around) and it had a lot more air to it. It's nice. Also needs to be dusted. We wondered if they threatened housekeeping so fiercely that no one's willing to touch it
 
My aunt works in large glass installations too, and is a little grumpy about Chihuly
 
She had some screens in Postrio at the Venetian but the restaurant has remodeled and gotten rid of them!

the one in pittsburgh was pretty awesome several years back. i had a bunch of photos. i must check them out again sometime.

I really like this one.

I've tried to take pictures inside there several times and they just don't seem to come out well. It seems like the lighting is set up well enough, but I never see anyone else's pictures from inside either so it makes me wonder.

I took 17 photos inside and more outside, but I just didn't like any of them as much as the two I posted. We didn't peek in the party room, but I know this would be an amazing place to have a party. It was overcast the day we went there (fancy that in Seattle {#Rolleyes}), I'm sure the place would really pop with the sun shining.

In GIMP you can create a copy of the bottom (background) layer and apply the unsharp mask to it. Then turn visibility off and on to see the effect.

In GIMP, if you've been working on layers, you can use the copy visible command in the edit menu and create a top layer that is all visible layers combined. You can apply the unsharp mask to this layer as well.

You can also dodge and burn these new layers. If you don't like where you end up with these layers, simply delete them, turn off their visibility, or adjust their opacity to taste. 

Creating layers in this way can save a point in the history of the development that you can return to, and can also let you edit to your hearts content, then use the opacity slider to tune how much of this edit shows in the final image.

And.........if you see when turning visibility off and on that you happen to like the sky in one layer, and the water in another layer (for example) you can apply a mask and paint away the visibility of a layer selectively, or use the gradient tool to create a smooth transition from one layer to another.  

Does this make sense?

If you were looking over my shoulder I'd show you how this works in Photoshop. It's easy once you get used to it. 

There are other methods for blending layers together too, but we'll save that for another time.

Both images were painted with light to brighten selected areas and add contrast. 

I also added some blur to this first photo. I don't know why. Because I thought it worked well with the haze I guess. 

When working on my own photos I often don't initially know where I'm going. Each photo develops differently. The same photo developed twice develops differently. Sometimes I'll spend an hour then discard it all and start again some other day. Or never open it again. When I quit worrying about ruining my photos, my photos got better. Except of course for the photos I ruined. There are plenty of those. 

Blah blah blah. I'll quit now.

I didn't see your edit offering the color photos until just now. These edits were performed on the black and white photos you posted.

There was a plugin for an earlier version of GIMP that would allow some .atn files to run, but it was not maintained through the versions and will not work for me. It may not be an easy chore, but if you found the action file on the internet, given the name I could find the equivalent script for GIMP.
