Yes, I have a friend who lives in Ashville, she had just moved there that year and was worried that she'd made a grave mistake. I think she's appreciative of the area now, but then....dang.

We had similar problems here two summers ago when the mountains were hit with the remnants of three Hurricanes in two weeks.

this was before the waters had crested about a block from the entrance to the Biltomre Estate

That area received over 10" of rain so I'd imagine she's not having that problem any longer!

Wow, My mom lives on Lake Tawokani (sp?) east of dallas, and it is so low from recent droughts that her boat cove is totally dry, and you can walk across many areas you would have had to swim a couple years ago.

Feast of famine I guess. Don't worry though global warming is NOT having an affect on the weather!

Stay safe, don't go out w/o your water wings.

Hola LaP! Yeah, we got off luckier in Austin; some badly-needed rain, lotsa midnight thunder 'n' lightning but not too much. Looks like there was a lot more along the I-35 corridor up your way!
