May as well go ahead and congratulate the Carolina Panthers, undisputed world champions and one of the greatest NFL teams of all times!{#Cheers} Now I don't have to worry about posting that in a couple of weeks.

Yes, and Manning just can't do that. He never really could and with the miles on the chassis it's not an option. He's still got the eye and the arm, so he's still a threat, but I just don't see how he keeps up. All it will take is one mis-step to come off the rails and Carolina's D is great at making those mis-steps happen this year.

How do you think they will hold together in the off season?  They don't have a lot of contracts up. Davis has a very expensive broken arm, but he'll be back. I think there are a couple lose ends, but the core will be back next year too.

It seems like they planned for the long term - getting rid of a bad seed like Greg Hardy and injury-prone players like  DeAngelo Williams, plus Kelvin Benjamin will be back next year.

Yes.  I think part of the reason Seattle was able to (almost) come back was because of how elusive and athletic Wilson is.  There were a few plays in that game where almost any other quarterback would easily have been sacked, but Wilson made big plays out of them.

both teams have excellent defenses

it is the offensive side of the ball where i think carolina had a decisive advantage

The Panthers have been pretty much disregarded all season by the "experts", saying "they haven't played anyone", etc., though four of the teams they beat played in the postseason.  Denver's defense is outstanding but Carolina's is also in the top 6 (tops in creating turn-overs), and their offense is much more potent than that of Denver.  It should be an interesting match-up.

The way they have come out in the playoffs is really impressive. I'm okay with where Seattle wound up this year, and seeing the game last night made me feel even better about the second half comeback last week.  I would like to see Manning go out with a big win, but he's got a mountain to climb if he's going to get it done. I hope we see a better effort than SB48.

I really don't see how.  Carolina is better than everyone else and by a large margin.  Quite frankly I was surprised by how so few were considering them the favorites going into the playoffs.  This is one of those times when the oh so tired moniker "we were disrespected" is actually appropriate.{#Lol}

I thought they were good. The early season game Seattle lost to them was one we were actually playing well and it was a last minute loss at Century Link. So I never really bought the "they only play easy teams" stuff. But the way they have dominated in the playoffs has been especially impressive.  I think they are likely to win the SB, then it will be interesting to see how they come back next year.
