I only have two concerts on the horizon:  Roger Waters on October 2nd in Toronto, and Paul Weller on October 10th in Toronto.

I really enjoyed seeing The Moody Blues on July 7th.  The show was filmed for a dvd release!!

I thought Stiv Bators died about 10 or 15 years ago.  I saw them once - '80 or '81, I think.  I mostly remember they were very loud.  I went with a classmate from SVA and two of her friends  - two sisters from NYU - one of whom I fancied - so I was somewhat distracted at the time.

They're playing Red Ants Pants this year. And they take the stage just as I do—about 75 miles east.

A friend implored me to call a dance for his fiddle students to play at, so I agreed without checking my calendar.

Dammit. {#Grumpy}

You MUST see this version of the band. The eight headed beast (three drummers, Mel Collins, Tony Levin...OMG) is at another peak of performance. Caught them a month ago and, after opening with a jazz number that turned out to be Neurotica (WHAT?!?!?!) their fourth tune was a version of Fracture that caused the entire seated floor to spontaneously leap to a loud, enthusiastic ovation.

Each night is something different. In this show they did a version of Islands that brought tears to my eyes. The version of Starless was the worst I'd ever heard (and I've got the Road to Red, Great Deceiver, and Larks Tongues box sets with dozens of versions included).

It's a spectacular show with extraordinary musicians. Go go go.

You can hear excerpts here.

Saw Krim in Oakland. They were amazing. I'd seen the seven-headed version a couple years prior and this sounded a bit tighter, a bit more brutal. STRONG recommendation for something so unique. They're at another high water mark.
