I guess it depends on the recording artist.  I know some local musicians who are doing partial analog recording and some doing (essentially) full analog for some of the stuff they're intent on releasing on vinyl.

Plus, it's been my experience that some digitally recorded performances then pressed on vinyl regain some of the vinyl "warmth" that is sometimes not evident on DDD sound.

So ...

With vinyl making a comeback, which is very cool for older analog masters ...

What is the point of listening to a vinyl analog copy of a modern digital recording ?

Is there some chain yanking going on ?

But I can't imagine doing that without correcting my astigmatism, which is pretty advanced. I am able to see without my glasses, but my balance and depth perception are kaput. I don't seem to enjoy much peripheral vision without the glasses either. So while I can get around and do basic activities of living (I could drive without, but am legally unable to do so, for instance; I could also chop veggies but I think that would be foolish), I find myself looking downward to keep out all the astigmatic "static." And then my mood starts going into the toilet.

Thanks. It kinda ended up a non issue as the doc suggested I go without the astigmatism correction.

I've been struggling with my vision and eyeglasses for the last few years. I recently tried progressive lenses again after failing to adjust to them a couple of years ago. Same story this time. Immediate vertigo and nausea. I think I'm going to try lined bifocals.

I also have a slight astigmatism in each eye. I did not include this correction in the lenses that I had to reject. I've been trying to take small steps because my brain doesn't seem to like glasses. The optician is recommending that I add the astigmatism correction to the new lined bifocal set. I've been concerned that my brain is accustomed to processing two different images into one, and that giving it the same image (via astigmatism correction) might make it more difficult to do the things I usually do without glasses, like drive, ride my bike, windsurf, hike, etc.

So my question is:

For those of you who have astigmatism correction in your lenses, and who see well enough to also function doing some things without glasses, how does that work for you? Does your brain make the adjustment easily, or does this correction make it more difficult to function without your glasses?

Thanks.
