So, Life on Mars (UK) was indeed great.

Excellent and poignant use of music (like some other TV series such as Breaking Bad or The Wire).

Hilarious humour (as it took place in '73, a good excuse to be very politically incorrect, in keeping with the times).

Suspenseful 'til the very end, and not that long of a run (all done in sixteen episodes).

The only problem (aside from the usual time warp issues) is that the Jean Genie and Ballroom Blitz have been stuck in my brain... {#Mrgreen}

Someone has been kind enough to compile a soundtrack as a torrent (for which I obviously can't provide a link. See the guidelines). {#Cheesygrin}

He does put out some great stuff.

And I've been a Theodore Roosevelt groupie for years... even with his flaws.

The man had some classic quotes...

"If you could kick the person in the pants responsible for most of your trouble, you wouldn't sit for a month."

"Nobody cares how much you know, until they know how much you care."

"Appraisals are where you get together with your team leader and agree what an outstanding member of the team you are, how much your contribution has been valued, what massive potential you have and, in recognition of all this, would you mind having your salary halved."

"It is only through labor and painful effort, by grim energy and resolute courage, that we move on to better things."

"
The things that will destroy America are prosperity-at-any-price, peace-at-any-price, safety-first instead of duty-first, the love of soft living, and the get-rich-quick theory of life.

"To educate a man in mind and not in morals is to educate a menace to society."

“When you play, play hard; when you work, don't play at all.”

“Never throughout history has a man who lived a life of ease left a name worth remembering.”
