the trick to octupus is to boil it before you grill it.

A big bowl of delicious, homemade gazpacho. AKA liquid salad.

I love this time of year when the gardens start producing and you can choose between hot dogs or spam.Natures bounty.

Hmm.  Those prices seem in line with what we pay here at some of the popular Thai restos.

Lunch special prices here if you are lucky, once you factor in your tip. Evening prices would be over double.

I'm sure I overreacted but those prices are lower than what we paid now that it's tourist season. But the portions were small too. I'll probably settle down but this wasn't a good value. I've never had a bowl of soup that expensive before ... It was pretty thin stuff. If we weren't sharing maybe it would have been enough for a light lunch but no, it was price gouging. I hope they make bank this summer because it's a long winter with no tourists and the locals who get gouged this summer won't be there to keep their lights on this winter. There's a sushi place a couple of doors down and for what we paid for the soup, we could have feasted. Live and learn.

Heard about this Thai place in town so we went there for lunch. First: It was good. Second, it was nothing I can't or haven't made myself at home many times as a quick mid-week throw-together. Third, oh my god that was expensive! Fourth, well, at least the portions were no the portions were small too! Well at least we went there for a light lunch and learned that lesson, rather than going there for the whole family to eat. Coworkers went there yesterday and it smelled good and she says "I love their food!" and she goes there a couple times a month, so I figured it was reasonable. Come to find out her meaty-meat entree and two spring rolls cost her $44 yesterday. I didn't hear that part. Not a fancy place either. Curt snippy service that got more curt when we said we were going to split a plate.

I'm not one to post negative stuff on Yelp but I really don't care if they make it or not.

Post it.  It will save others.

Was out at the newest craft brewer / resto last night, pre-threatre.  Holy effing noisy.  What is it with these new places & trends - the joint is so loud you have to shout to be heard across the table.  Nice beer, food good, but not my kind of place for convo.  And so they'll get thusly rated.
