RIP Frack, beloved cat

Posted by duchamp - Mar 3, 2012 - 9:17am

Frack, fourteen years old,  beloved pet ''King'' CAT of my family.  The last of my children's cats, born here. He was once twenty pounds and  is now dead at ten pounds. I have no idea why he was losing weigh and it matters not. He was for sure on the last leg of a long and happy life here in the Hardwood Hammock.  Last night he fell or mis-jumped from the upstairs banister.  My precious, dog, Darla just kept barking and then, I saw him.   He let me rub him and started to breath.  After some time he gave a loud and proud cat holler ..like the Toms do when they are courting or fighting. He made an attempt at movement.  I felt after that, that  picking him up would not hurt.  We walked outside and he seemed to notice the cooler air and misty weather. I just held him. There was that twilight of between the worlds where the spirit hangs so close.
