Warren died Sunday night, 9-7, while taking an afternoon nap. I've always known naps aren't good for you. I'm a big fan of Jackson Browne's and, therefore, was pleased to see a reprint from his interview in Written In My Soul about Warren. The note about "with a Z" is from Jackson's introduction of Warren on his first record. Anyway, I loved Warren and his fine sense of humor. He was a legend with a mixture of Johnny Cash and Jim Morrison in him. I missed Letterman's last goodbye but was fortunate to see the 1 hour show with Warren. I am also a big fan of Letterman and Barry. They made excellent tributes.
Warren no longer needs a cab to find a priest, and he's resting in a place where they never change the sheets, so I'll say goodnight to him here. Thanks, my Mutineer.
