Here I am again sitting on the roof of my home away from home, Puerto Escondido, Mexico. Many of you know I escape to Oaxaca every year but this year is special, I brought RP with me. It is 70 degrees, bright sun and the Pacific is absolutly beautiful.

My wife Libby and drove down again this years. We left two weeks ago from Arkansas. It was a quick trip to Arizona to drop off the dog at my son's house. Then back across Texas to pick up the Gulf coast road. We crossed at McAllen, Texas then 2-1/2 days of grouling driving. The roads are a little rough above Tampico. Most of Mexico was very cool until we reached Vera Cruz. The green mountains and Gulf waters reminds me SLO, CA.

We made the jog over the ismus without any problem. A definate increase in military road-blocks since the new government took over. Maybe 8 total but only searched 4 times. Nothing serious. Hit up for a couple of bucks at a Federal road block because they wanted sodas. Stopped in ...
