RIP *MY* Best Friend, My Sidekick, My Greatest Joy and pain.
Posted: Jul 19, 2004 - 9:48pm
Posted or not, public or private... My avatar is of my basset ... Doc ... I came home today to find him lethargic.. the boyous 14 year old going on 6 month old brat.. didn't run up to the fence to announce that I'd been away all day again leaving him to have to find his own pleasures....

I have issues with my family.. and right now I am trying with all that is, to not hold anger and all the negatives against my father, who, is home all day... in that he didn't recognize earlier that there was something seriously wrong with my boy.....

I took him to the emergency vetrinary hospital (thankfully 2 years ago I moved to where i am.. and am only 18 miles from a 24hour facility) and upon arrival, I could sense they were hestitant... only after they ultrasounded his belly... not believing me when I said he couldn't possibly be pregnant.... they found his troubles.. three "massess" were bleeding into his abdomen .... and then when I pushed for them to test to ...

Readying for Vacation again :)
Posted: Jul 18, 2004 - 10:32pm
Readying again for Vacation.. again with friends.. again to North Carolina.. Virginia Beach & Ocean City don't exsist in my world anyomre.. they are too close, too crowded, too much crap. Plus on the way back from NC you can buy good fireworks.. :)

I intend so many times to do so much when on vacation.. I think this time I will do rather than do not. I did make it to aviations' mecca last time.. seeing Wrights & Flights and other things.. although.. I think the Museam is rather light concidering its weight.. but that's what the new wing is supposed to be when completed .... or so I was told... since it was closed on the one chance I had to see it.. :(

Not this year.. this year is going to be different. I've the jeep, no problems with getting to locations that aren't car friendly.. and I do love the lighthouses.. and this year I'm going to have a digital camera of my own.. won't have to borrow one from anyone.. now to just to get the damned ...

Just back from Vacation :(
Posted: Sep 8, 2003 - 10:42pm
I'm just back from vacation.. had 56k connection so there were NO frills ... ie no streaming mp3's, and I didn't check in on my favorite haunts...

so I return to find the station up and running its new site... cool!

Oh... where'd I vacation? South Nags Head, NC.

A friend arranges a week of a house *on* the beach and the rest of us schlubs put in an equal ($) share.

The weather was PERFECT 24/7 for the WHOLE WEEK!!!
Wednesday the ocean was too cold in the morning.... and then in the afternoon, it was too rough.. Thursday we got out in it.. again too cold in the AM and it was rough in the pm.. friday.. too rough in the am.. and in the PM it wasn't much better but since it was the last day for fun in the sun... we all toughed it out.. actually I was proud of my non-swiming self, I got dunked three times and stayed safe without taking on water like the two years past. :)

Although.. coming back from vacation.. the grass hadn't been properly ...

Whups.. that was my first ever journal post... not just here on RP, but anywhere.. oddly enough whether anyone reads it or not, I felt better writing it. I wonder if that's what blogs are all about.. getting it off the chest before your innerds explode leaving a mess everywhere..

why am I surprised
Posted: Jul 15, 2003 - 11:50pm
another of those why am I surprised that gates is where he is and microsoft controls every aspect of our lives..
My day job is dumping anything linux because they don't want to hire people that know it.. even though the cost of running two linux boxes (firewall & failover) has resulted in two rebuilds for updates / new technology in the past 6 years, yet they've had issues monthly with everything else.. or I should say.. with everything Windows based... including having every machine being completely rebuilt at least once in the past two years because it was hit by one of the major virus/worms let loose into society...
so as it goes, it doesn't matter that your car runs on a thimble of gasoline, makes little or no sound when running, and doesn't add to the polution as a whole, all while performing three times better than a competing car.... if users can't figure out how to look under the hood, they won't buy it or support it..
Thank you bill... ...
