ME! If you're not my giftor you may want to waste your time elsewhere. If you are my giftor...here goes. Top of the wishlist is a Nikon D3 with a AF-S VR Zoom-NIKKOR 200-400mm f/4G IF-ED. I realize that it may be a little over the price limit, but it's ok. I'm sure you won't be the only one to spend more than recommended. If you would like to send food, that's good too. I like chocolate. Just good, plain chocolate. Chocolate covered chocolate is ok. I like coffee. While I would have preferred the President Elect to be old and gray, I prefer my coffee to be dark, strong and fresh. Nothing flavored or fruity. If you're baking or canning, the only berries I like are blue or straw. Cran and rasp make me gag. Baked ... [ Show full text and comments (6) ] |

As of today, I will no longer be posting in the photo forum. It is my choice not to post, but a choice I was forced to make.
The forum was started in order to share our photographic efforts. I believe it has been successful. I have seen some excellent work from other RPeeps and it has been inspirational. I have also enjoyed the opportunities I have had to share some of my knowledge with others who share my enjoyment and passion for photography. My photographs are very special to me. They are a part of me. Whether it is a concert photo, a flower, or a high school homecoming, I enjoy creating images. It is this deep connection I have with my work that has created the situation that has brought me to this difficult decision. On Thursday, I had one of my photographs "Geedified". I suppose I knew it would happen one day, but I didn't like it. I never said anything when it was done to others in the forum because I just assumed that if they objected, they ... from all the hoses and tubes going in and out of her body. She is feeling pretty good. Not needing all the pain meds she is permitted.
The physical therapist came in yesterday and had her stand up. Today she hopped 2 steps forward and 2 steps back with the help of a walker. She won't be allowed to put weight on her leg for a few months. She will probably be transfered to the hospital's rehab facility by the end of the week. Things are looking up. Thank you again for all the prayers and good vibes. buzz P.S. This kitchen bozo actually cooked his own real and complete dinner with no adult supervision. First time in 25 years. Chicken thighs on the George Foreman grill, rice and vegetables. Anyone know the symptoms of salmonella poisoning? [ Show Comments (25) ] |

She is doing much better.
No more blood going in or out. Should be off the fluid drip tomorrow. She was moved to a regular room tonight and had solid food for dinner. Spirits are good. She has one of those morphine machines. A constant supply of painkiller and a button to add a little extra every half hour if she needs it. she does It works much better for her than having to summon a nurse every few hours and then waiting for an injection. I will PM everyone that asked for her room number before the end of the night. Give blood Thanks Mark [ Show Comments (23) ] |

It's 9 pm Sat night and I just got home. I have been at the hospital since 6 am yesterday. First things first, she is doing ok. Now you can relax while you read the rest of this.
*EDIT* I can't describe it all. I tried. Can't do do it. Here's the short version. They replaced the original plate with a much longer one and used pieces of cadaver bone and powdered bone to make her femur stronger. The surgeon was pleased with the outcome. The problem was that she lost a tremendous amount of blood. Way more than the doc expected. They took her up to ICU for recovery. When they let me into the ICU, she was still on the breathing machine. A bunch of IV lines going into her. Doctors and nurses all around. I couldn't believe what I was seeing. I don't know how to describe it, but trust me, it was a bad scene. They kept pumping blood and fluids into her. Medications to make her blood pressure rise. Slowly throughout the night she started to improve. ... [ Show full text and comments (22) ] |

It broke again. Different place. Just below the first break. There was no trauma, nothing happened. It just broke. Probably weakened by the screws.
She is having surgery first thing tomorrow morning. She will not be able to put any weight on it for at least 4 months. The entire healing process will be at least 6 months. She needs your good vibes and prayers. Cards would be nice too. PM me for the address. If you feel the need to send something more, flowers or gifts, please use the money to make a donation in her name to the Red Cross. i've run out of words [ Show Comments (47) ] |
