Amanda Palmer - Astronaut (A Short History Of Nearly Nothing)
(Oct 22, 2010 - 07:47)
I'd rather listen to the original she ripped her act off of, Kristeen Young.

Band of Horses - Is There A Ghost
(Oct 22, 2010 - 07:42)

I don't why, but this band gets on my nerves. Sure they sound wimpy, but I like some wimpy bands, hell, I love Morrisey and Elliot Smith. I can't put my finger on it, it is like they are trying to hard to be schmaltzy or something......hmmmmmm. whatever the reason, not a fan.{#No}

That's it precisely! I just can't stand them.

Guadalcanal Diary - Sleepers, Awake
(Oct 21, 2010 - 13:54)
It's not "Always Saturday" but it's a decent tune.

Refreshments - Banditos
(Oct 21, 2010 - 12:44)
This song always makes me laugh.  The video was so cute.

Crowded House - Private Universe
(Oct 21, 2010 - 10:08)
Possibly my favorite song ever. I was lucky enough to see them play it live.  I LOVE NEIL FINN.

The Cure - Pictures of You
(Oct 21, 2010 - 09:24)
One of my favorite songs/albums of all times.  "Disintigration" is like an old friend you've known since childhood. You may drift apart for awhile but you can always pick up right where you left off and they are always there when you need them.  Incredible live experience as well, hearing this song.  Goosebumps.

Florence and The Machine - Cosmic Love
(Oct 21, 2010 - 08:29)
Boring. She's so not worth the hype.  Her vocal delivery annoys me.

Death Cab For Cutie - Transatlanticism
(Oct 21, 2010 - 06:36)
I avoided this band for so long never having hear them because every fanboy poseur was obsessed and their OC appearance and such, but I finally heard them and what a delight.  I can't believe what I was missing all that time.  Brilliant songwriting.

Liz Phair - What Makes You Happy
(Oct 20, 2010 - 13:39)
I think this was the last good song she's written. Makes me just want to jump around the house.

Patty Griffin - Burgundy Shoes
(Oct 20, 2010 - 13:28)
Yet another wonderful song that was used so elegantly on an episode of "One Tree Hill." That show was my guilty pleasure until about 2 years ago. But the song reminds me of the scene and it just grabs the heartstrings.

Ben Folds Five - Brick
(Oct 20, 2010 - 13:22)
Of all the incredible BFF songs, they pick this one? This song needs to go away.

Eleanor McEvoy - Precious Little
(Oct 20, 2010 - 12:09)
I forgot how much I love this song. I haven't heard it in 13 years!

The Stone Roses - Waterfall
(Oct 20, 2010 - 06:30)
I bought this album and Sisters of Mercy "Floodland" on my 16th birthday. This album, this song in particular, has always put me in a good mood.  It has held up through all these years and still sounds amazing. Happy!

The Shins - New Slang (When You Notice the Stripes)
(Oct 19, 2010 - 07:30)
They didn't change my  life but their cds made it more enjoyable.  However, live- they are the most boring, unenthusiastic band I've ever seen.

My Morning Jacket - Librarian
(Oct 19, 2010 - 07:28)
It took me awhile to get into MMJ but now I'm hooked. Their live shows are an incredible experience.  I loved their little appearance in "I'm Not There."

Samples - Did You Ever Look So Nice
(Oct 19, 2010 - 06:49)
I got into them after college when I was finally able to hang out with some Phish head type folks. I'm sad I didn't know them before that.  Such beautiful, upbeat music sometimes with a melancholy edge.  Love Sean Kelly's voice.

Billy Bragg & Wilco - California Stars
(Oct 18, 2010 - 13:32)
This song was a big hit at my wedding.  I'll always remember my mother in law and father in law dancing together to it.

Wilco - What Light
(Oct 18, 2010 - 06:32)
I think musically it's a simple song for them, but simple doesn't mean bad. This one is all about the lyrics.  And I think Tweedy's voice sounds sweet on this one.  It's especially good at his solo shows.

The Cure - 2 Late
(Oct 15, 2010 - 08:37)
This is one of my favorite Cure songs. The lyrics are so sad. One of the best live shows I've ever seen. Loved them since I was 12 and had Robert Smith pin ups from "Smash Hits" all in my locker and bedroom walls.

Jump Little Children - Cathedrals
(Oct 14, 2010 - 07:28)
One of the few reasons I liked living in SC, this band.  Brilliant bunch of musicians.

Toad The Wet Sprocket - Something's Always Wrong
(Oct 14, 2010 - 07:11)
Toad reminds me of freshman year of college.  They were also playing when I first met my husband.

Folk Implosion - Natural One
(Oct 06, 2010 - 13:53)
Still a good song after all these years. Don't think the movie has held up, though.

Trespassers William - Lie in the Sound
(Oct 06, 2010 - 13:39)
Hate to admit but I found this song because it was on an episode of "One Tree Hill" and it just gets more beautiful each time I hear.

Neil Finn - Human Kindness
(Oct 06, 2010 - 13:18)
Such an underrated musician.  I was lucky enough to see Crowded House during their first reunion tour.

Squirrel Nut Zippers - Hell
(Oct 06, 2010 - 10:01)
This is one fun song but NOT the wisest choice for karaoke. Lesson learned.

Elliott Smith - Waltz #2
(Oct 05, 2010 - 13:56)
I love this man's music. He was an amazing pianist, drummer, guitarist, singer, songwriter. Such a loss to the world.

Radiohead - Reckoner
(Oct 05, 2010 - 12:45)
This song makes me weep.  Seeing it live was a very memorable experience. It's so simple and layered so elegantly.

Goldfrapp - Little Bird
(Oct 05, 2010 - 07:17)
One of the most beautiful voices in music today. Love how their sound changes with every album they put out. Very innovative, unique band.

Icicle Works - Birds Fly (Whisper to a Scream)
(Oct 04, 2010 - 07:00)
Haven't heard this in a very long time. It's always made me feel happy.

Interpol - The Undoing
(Sep 30, 2010 - 11:00)
I was lucky enough to have seen them a few weeks ago and they just put on an amazing show. I love how they've taken 80's new wave but put their own spin on it.

Kirsty MacColl - Libertango
(Sep 29, 2010 - 10:21)
Her voice and style was so mesmerizing. Such a loss that she died in such a freak accident. RIP Kirsty.

Band of Horses - Factory
(Sep 29, 2010 - 07:19)

The lead singer sounds like the guy from Jump Little Children to me.

Uh...no way

Band of Horses - Factory
(Sep 29, 2010 - 07:19)
Why are these guys so hyped? It's so boring. There's so much better music out there getting.

Eurythmics - Love is a Stranger
(Sep 29, 2010 - 06:36)
This and "Jennifer" are my favorite Eurythmics songs. Fabulousness.

Arcade Fire - Rococo
(Sep 28, 2010 - 13:53)
Talented band but way overrated and over hyped.

The Sisters of Mercy - More
(Sep 28, 2010 - 13:44)
Oh flashback to the way back of my youth. LOVE it. Too bad he cancelled due to illness when I was supposed to see them in DC. Boo hiss.
