Tom Waits - Ol'55
(May 13, 2013 - 08:23)
Lord, that's the most seriously awful song I've heard since tuning into Radio Paradise.  From the album Closing Time apparently.  Yes please, close and don't reopen.    Eagles version way better, to my ears.

Mostly I work to RP in the background but I couldn't ignore that.  Distractingly bad!

Foo Fighters - Times Like These
(Jan 04, 2013 - 03:24)
Gets me every time from the first note to the last.   Especially going from loud to totally soft.   I'm in the 'like' crowd.{#Dancingbanana}

Sigur Rós - Með Suð í Eyrum
(Dec 29, 2012 - 08:13)
so bad you had to say so twice. Or was it three times? Or four? Message heard. Press the alternative song button!

Low Strung - Fix You
(Dec 29, 2012 - 05:05)
Started off thinking this is interesting, and by the end decided it was way too intense. 3

Elbow - Some Riot
(Oct 01, 2012 - 08:16)
Urrggggh.  Please, no!

Robbie Robertson - Somewhere Down The Crazy River
(Sep 16, 2012 - 02:45)
Funny funny....

I've never done heroin but this song makes me want to give it a try.

Ethereal.  And Ace.

Porcupine Tree - Start of Something Beautiful
(Aug 16, 2012 - 07:28)
 Yep, good point.

This is one of my all-time favorites heard first on RP. But it suffers from over-compression during the instrumentally-rich choruses where the vocal is pushed way down. Don't think it's any worse in this regard than many other wide dynamic recordings, but I notice it more here, probably because I like the song so much.

Magic.  I love RP for bringing these songs to my attention.   Every day I make a list of key songs I heard and buy them.  So glad I bought this one.  Thank you!

Ellis Paul - Maria's Beautiful Mess
(Jul 06, 2012 - 04:44)
Only caught part of this song, but great to hear Ellis on Radio Paradise.   His "Georgia" live album is excellent, and engaging to see live.

The Blue Nile - Tomorrow Morning
(Jun 03, 2012 - 03:43)
All I can say is I hope you have a lifejacket!

The Blue Nile are not best played as single tracks until you know the style.   Me, I'd go for some plays of "Happiness".   That'd show everyone, Bill.    :-)

David Crosby and Graham Nash - Lay Me Down
(May 14, 2012 - 04:54)
Who NEEDS Neil Young here?   This is Crosby and Nash's own space.  And it's one of their best.   (Yours, a top NY fan)

Death Cab for Cutie - Doors Unlocked and Open
(May 11, 2012 - 01:19)
Gets better every time.  Perfectly constructed...

Dave Mason - World in Changes
(Apr 22, 2012 - 05:07)
Preferred Headkeeper later...

Kathleen Edwards - In State
(Apr 22, 2012 - 05:04)
How unbelievably boring.

The Band - Acadian Driftwood
(Apr 20, 2012 - 02:11)
It would be worth trying to dig out the cover version by Phil Beer in the UK.

Talking Heads - Listening Wind
(Apr 16, 2012 - 09:07)
Another of Peter Gabriel's covers now makes sense.  Neat.

Regina Spektor - All the Rowboats
(Apr 09, 2012 - 02:56)
What an ending. Regina Spector is always so fresh. Looking forward to the album release. And we heard it first here. Thanks RP.

Morcheeba - Enjoy the Ride
(Feb 10, 2012 - 11:56)
Judie tzuke on vocals. she is fab. I have not heard this before but suggest you seek out Judie anyway. Brilliant voice and 30 years of great music since stay with me til dawn.

Laura Marling - Hope in the Air
(Feb 05, 2012 - 12:35)
It is great that RP finds interesting songs, not just the obvious hits? It makes for a much richer, deeper experience, to my mind. Thanks guys.

Dire Straits - Once Upon A Time In The West
(Feb 05, 2012 - 12:12)
So boring!

Robbie Robertson - Fallen Angel
(Jan 16, 2012 - 03:15)
Excellent.  As noted, Peter Gabriel adds a lot....  Thanks for the reminder!

Neil Young - Look Out For My Love
(Jan 13, 2012 - 04:16)
You connect up from across the world, and within two songs comes this.  Without stations like this we wouldn't hear these wonderful songs anything like as much.  Truly excellent.
